Pub of the Year criteria
We have adopted the national criteria for selecting our branch Pub of the Year:
Three pubs in each of the Croydon and Sutton boroughs are selected based on beer scores, and members are invited to judge them independently.
Each category is scored out of 10
Category 1 - Quality and condition of real ale / cider / perry (weighting 2)
Category 2 - Promotion and knowledge of real ale (weighting 2)
Category 3 - Cleanliness and staff hygiene (weighting 2)
Category 4 - Service, welcome and offering (weighting 1)
Category 5 - Style, decor and furnishing (weighting 1)
Category 6 - Community focus and atmosphere (weighting 2)
Category 7 - Sympathy with CAMRA's aims (weighting 1)
Category 8 - Overall impression and value (weighting 1)
With effect from the 2024 round, our Pub of the Year selection procedure will be amended so that the same pub will not be submitted to the regional round two years in succession. This will not affect our borough pub of the year selection.
